When the newly renovated Cincinnati Convention Center reopens in early 2026, visitors will experience more than stunning architecture and modernized spaces — they’ll experience **lightning-fast, reliable WiFi powered by altafiber**.
As part of a **$264 million transformation**, altafiber is delivering a next-generation 10-gigabit, fiber-enabled Dedicated Internet and WiFi 6E solution that will serve as the digital backbone of one of the region’s most important gathering spaces.

### **Building Cincinnati’s Most Advanced WiFi Network**
Behind the scenes, altafiber’s engineers are constructing an enterprise-grade network with 28 miles of Cat6A cabling woven throughout the Center’s 750,000 square feet of space. That infrastructure will connect to 271 WiFi 6E access points, ensuring high-speed, high-density connectivity for thousands of devices — from exhibitors and conference attendees to event organizers and media crews.
> “The Convention Center will feature one of the most technologically advanced WiFi solutions in the country when we’re finished,” said **Greg Wheeler**, Chief Operating Officer at altafiber. “We’re building the infrastructure that will keep thousands of visitors seamlessly connected for the next decade and beyond.”
---
### **Why WiFi 6E Matters for Businesses**
WiFi 6E represents the latest evolution in wireless technology, expanding into the 6 GHz spectrum to deliver:
- **Faster speeds** for data-heavy applications like live streaming and virtual conferencing
- **Lower latency**, ideal for real-time collaboration and connected devices
- **Greater capacity**, enabling thousands of concurrent users without slowdowns
For large venues and growing businesses alike, WiFi 6E combined with **dedicated fiber internet** ensures a consistent, reliable experience even in the most demanding environments.
---
### **A Gateway for Growth in Greater Cincinnati**
The upgraded Convention Center will include:
- **Three levels** of event and meeting space
- **200,000 square feet of exhibition space**
- **Two ballrooms** — including the 40,000-square-foot Cincinnatus Ballroom, one of the Midwest’s largest
- A **rooftop terrace** overlooking downtown
- A forthcoming **700-room Marriott hotel**, **2-acre park**, and **Elm Street Plaza**
These features — supported by altafiber’s robust network — will help position Cincinnati as a **premier convention and event destination**.
> “Nothing makes a better first impression than offering the highest-quality, most reliable technology,” said **Katie Westbrook**, Senior Vice President of Development for 3CDC. “We’re grateful for altafiber’s partnership in delivering high-speed WiFi at the Convention Center.”
---
### **Connectivity That Powers the Region**
The Cincinnati Convention Center joins other high-traffic venues powered by altafiber, including Paycor Stadium, Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport, and the Sharonville Convention Center. These facilities collectively serve millions of residents and visitors every year — all relying on altafiber’s business internet solutions to stay connected.
> “We’re proud to partner with organizations that depend on altafiber’s cutting-edge technology to deliver an outstanding customer experience,” said **John Scola**, Director of Product Strategy for altafiber Business.
---
### **Empowering Businesses with Fiber Internet**
From convention centers to corporate offices, altafiber Business Internet provides the speed, reliability, and scalability modern organizations demand. With 10-gigabit Dedicated Internet, WiFi 6E, and managed network solutions, altafiber helps businesses stay connected — and stay ahead.
