Bell Charitable Foundation Awards Over $172,000 to Six Organizations in Fall 2025 Grant Cycle

The Bell Charitable Foundation (BCF) is proud to announce that six organizations have been selected to receive more than $172,000 in funding during its Fall 2025 grant cycle. This cycle focused on two key pillars: Economic & Social Mobility and Sustainability.

Grant recipients are located in Greater Cincinnati and Hawaii, and include:

  • Freestore Foodbank – Logistics. Inventory Management, Facilities Management and Transportation (LIFT) offers an opportunity for unemployed and underemployed adults throughout the tristate region to become trained in a growing field, providing essential job skills. This 10-week free job training program based in Cincinnati will supply hands-on training from experienced warehouse personnel at Freestore Foodbank, specialized course work by Gateway Community and Technical College, as well as links to local employment through other program partners. 
  • MORTAR The MORTAR Entrepreneurship Academy is a fifteen-week course designed for those who are starting or growing their businesses. Advancing the Day One Excellence program, which provides coaching and mentorship for entrepreneurs from historically marginalized communities. 
  • Taking Root  Addresses the current historic loss of our region’s tree canopy by planting trees, better managing our local forests, promoting the many benefits of healthy trees, and fostering a sense of stewardship among individuals and communities. Implementing the Miyawaki reforestation method in underserved Cincinnati neighborhoods
  • Goodwill Hawaii – They help people with employment barriers to reach their full potential and become self-sufficient. Goodwill Hawaii delivers Job Readiness Training for underserved Oʻahu residents

  • KAMP Hawaii – They work with youth in one of six mentoring programs: Anti-bullying Lunchtime Program, Classroom Outreach Program, Special Needs Classroom Outreach Program, Alternative Learning Center Outreach Program, and Outdoor Outreach Program and Summer “Pride and Victory” Healthy Lifestyle Enrichment Program. KAMP Hawaii is expanding its Youth Mentor Program across Oʻahu
  • E kūpaku ka ʻāina – They foster wellbeing and an economy of abundance through the critical business of land restoration and the art of traditional cultural practice. E kūpaku ka ʻāina is launching Eaolamama Phase 1 to restore a 500-acre parcel in Maui through biochar production and native food forests

Since its launch by altafiber in 2022, BCF has awarded over $1 million in grants to organizations driving meaningful impact.
